Vacation carve-outs within the block. Some plans also address vacation time specifically, allowing either parent to take the child out of state or on a trip during their allotted time, with advance notice and an itinerary shared with the other parent.

Fitting camps and other commitments around it

If a child attends a specific camp, sports program, or other summer commitment, worth deciding in advance whether that's fixed regardless of which parent has custody that week, or whether it only happens during a specific parent's time. Naming this explicitly avoids a late-summer scramble over whether a camp session falls inside or outside someone's block.
